Cenan leads BGN USA’s operations and strategic development across the Americas. With more than 25 years’ experience in global energy trading and management, Cenan directs the company’s expansion in crude oil, LPG, LNG and sustainable fuels, ensuring disciplined growth and operational excellence throughout the region.

He most recently served as CEO of Myriant Corporation, where he guided the company from early-stage development through its acquisition and successful integration into PTTGC, Thailand’s National Oil Company. Prior to this role, he held senior executive positions at BASF Corporation, including Senior Vice President of the Petrochemicals and Acrylics divisions, overseeing manufacturing, sales, marketing, and supply chain operations with annual revenues of $2–4 billion.

Cenan has held board positions in the United States, Mexico, and Thailand, and has contributed to academia as a lecturer in Business Ethics at Pennsylvania State University for five years. He currently serves as an adjunct faculty member at the University of Florida, supporting early-stage companies at the UF Innovation Hub. In addition, he advises private equity firms on M&A strategies in the chemical and biochemical sectors
